Xanthe Wells

VP, Global Creative, Pinterest

Recognized as an Ad Age "Woman to Watch," Ad Age "40 Under 40," and one of Business Insider’s "30 Most Creative Women in Advertising,” Xanthe Wells is a creative director with over 19 years of experience, 14 of which she spent at advertising agencies before making the move brand side in 2017. She is currently Pinterest’s VP of Creative, where she leads all creative, concepting, design, experiential, writing and content for Pinterest Marketing.


Previously, Xanthe served as Senior Director & Global Executive Creative Director for Google Devices & Services, based out of Mountain View, California. Xanthe worked in close collaboration with multiple agencies including Wieden + Kennedy, Swift, GUT, Droga5, 72andSunny in addition to overseeing the Google Devices & Services Creative Team. Before becoming ECD of Google Devices & Services, Xanthe served as Global Creative Director at Nest. In her tenure at Google, she led her team of 100+ creatives and producers to international recognition by many industry award shows, including Brand Side Agency of the Year in both the One Show and Art Directors Club award shows in May 2022 as well as a Grand Prix in Cannes for Real Tone on Google Pixel.


Prior to that, she served as Executive Creative Directors at TBWA \MAL for Good, working on social good initiatives for Laurene Powell Jobs' organization, Emerson Collective. Before her time at \MAL, Xanthe served as Partner and Chief Creative Officer of Los Angeles-based boutique agency Pitch. Prior to joining Pitch, she spent the formative part of her career at TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles where she spent 7 years leading efforts on Pepsi, PlayStation, WaMu, Diet Pepsi, Kraft and Pinkberry.


Outside of her day job, Xanthe is co-founder of several packaged goods brands. An art director by trade, she was born and raised in the heart of San Francisco, spent most of her career in Los Angeles but returned to the Bay Area in 2017 where she still lives with her two kids.
